Child During Feedings

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

baby-breastfeeding-allergyJust as the baby prefers certain sights and sounds to some others, have preferences for tastes and odors. Breathe deeply to smell the milk, vanilla, bananas or sugar, but wrinkled her nose at the smell of alcohol or vinegar.

If you get the chest at the end of the first week will be able to distinguish between nurse wipes his mother from other moms and turned towards them and ignoring others. This kind of radar that has help to recognize the child during feedings and will notify you when you need to get away from potentially harmful substances in the future.

The infant is also sensitive to touch, and the way they caught. Be immersed in a satin or flannel blanket and withdrawal or refusal to show rough surfaces, rough or abrasive. If you caress with the palm of your hand, look as relaxed and calm, however if it takes overnight, they feel attacked and possibly cry.

Always remember that long before they learn to communicate in words the child communicates with gestures and capturing a mood, so it is always advisable at every show how endless is our love for them.

The new dummies “natural”

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

You already had the choice between silicone teats and rubber teats here are 100% natural rubber. More hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly, however they last as long.
Rubber or silicone?

Resize of LSR silicone teat

The radius of teats, bottle or not, you can choose between:

- Silicone nipples;
- Rubber nipples (sometimes called latex).

Silicone is a synthetic product (without bisphenol A). The rubber comes from a transformation of the latex from the rubber tree called. It is therefore more natural. However, toxic additives are sometimes involved in the manufacture of teats.

The nipples 100% natural rubber

There has been little nipples rubber or latex 100% natural. They are produced:

- Without toxic additives;
- Without the protein responsible for allergies to rubber / latex.

Unlike the usual dummies whose collar is often plastic, pacifiers “natural” and are composed entirely of natural rubber. Where others are partly plastic.
The nipples 100% natural rubber

There has been little nipples rubber or latex 100% natural. They are produced:

- Without toxic additives;

More hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly than silicon

The rubber and latex also offer advantages over silicon. They are as follows:

- Cheaper;
- More flexible and therefore easier to suck.

However, they are often:

- Have a taste that some babies do not like;
- Be responsible for allergies.

Note: if you want to remove the unpleasant taste of rubber, boil the pacifier in milk for 3 minutes then rinse. You will however change quickly.

Compared to the old rubber boots or latex nipple 100% natural

- Is even more flexible (and therefore more ergonomic);
- Is more hygienic (because seamless slot corner where bacteria may lodge);
- Is most responsible for allergies because the protein responsible for allergies has been removed from production;
- Is more environmentally friendly production and fully biodegradable.

NOTE: These nipples suction cast into a block are also safer. Indeed, there is no risk that the shield is detached from the collar. What can happen (rarely) with the flanges nipples sucking hard. Especially with the silicone nipple shields, which tend to harden with time (the child sucks or sucks therefore stronger).
Shorter life

A disadvantage of rubber in general is its shelf life. In fact, the rubber has poor resistance to weather (it cracks, becomes sticky …). Rubber teats n’apportent 100% natural so no progress at this level. The manufacturers even recommend changing them every month (instead of 2 months usually, whatever the composition of the nipple).
Where to find

To find these rubber boots 100% natural, locate the entries:

- Natural rubber or natural latex;
- Without compounds / toxic adjuvants;
- From rubberwood.

Rely also on the sticker Oko Tex (named after the German leader in environmental magazines) that indicates compliance with health and environmental standards.

Choose an artificial milk for babies infancy

Monday, March 15th, 2010

You chose not to breastfeed baby and you are in front of the beam “formula” of your supermarket. Among the dozens of cans of formula, which will be best for your baby? Here are our tips for choosing a formula for your baby.

Why a special milk between 0 and 6 months?

Plastic-baby-bottle

The best milk for the infant is his mother. But if you can not or do not want to breastfeed for the first months, babies should be fed with infant formula, milk called childhood.

Posing as a box of powdered milk will be reconstructed (due to a measure of powder to 30 ml of water with low mineral content, such as water source for example).

Note:
Cow’s milk, too rich in protein and sodium and too low in essential fatty acids, iron and vitamins, is not suitable for infants. Its use should be banned in babies under one year.
Of what is the formula?

Protein extracted from cow’s milk, but modified to resemble breast milk.
Fat, usually vegetable.
Carbohydrate milk (lactose).
Vitamins C and D and minerals such as iron.
And an essential part of water into the formula milk powder.
Among the first milk age, how can you find?

The simplest may be to choose the same milk that has been given to babies in the maternity, unless of course your pediatrician to recommend one in particular.

Positions of baby breastfeeding

Monday, January 18th, 2010

One factor affecting the success of breastfeeding is linked to the position in which we place the baby in time to perform the process. There are mothers who choose to support the child on one side while others prefer to stay prepared with the baby in her arms.

The election will depend on the comfort they prepare for breastfeeding and the best position to facilitate suckling baby.

We can distinguish three basic positions which are the major chosen by mothers:

- Lying in this case the mother should bring the baby to the breast to the child facing. In general, the mother is rocking and is supported by a pillow on the back for greater comfort and the second pillow in the lap which allows it to be more disordered.

- A session: This position is chosen by many women because they can use it anywhere. Here the child’s head should be relaxed, based on the elbow joint of the mother. Again, the pillows are a great help so you can choose nursing for those of the well located between the baby and the mother’s lap. On the other hand, it will help it to the arm of the mother is not tired.

- Invested: it is a very chosen by mothers of twins because the two children can eat at the same time. On the other hand, it is ideal for mothers with cesarean section. In this case the baby is still below the arms of the mother with the feet toward the back of it. The mother should place a pillow under the baby and support the child’s shoulders and the base of the head with his hand.
